ABOUT US

ForestLand Foundation-SL is a Sierra Leone-based NGO established in March 2024, dedicated to empowering marginalized communities, protecting vulnerable groups, and promoting sustainable development. The Foundation integrates social development with environmental protection and climate action, focusing on climate change awareness, mitigation, and resilience.

Working in both rural and urban areas, ForestLand Foundation-SL collaborates closely with communities and local stakeholders to address key issues such as health, education, gender equality, youth and women empowerment, substance abuse prevention, environmental conservation, and sustainable livelihoods. Committed to inclusion and equity, the Foundation ensures active participation of women, children, and marginalized groups to create lasting social and environmental impact across Sierra Leone.

To promote and protect the rights and well-being of women, children, and youth, particularly marginalized and vulnerable groups, through education, peace-building, community development, human rights advocacy, and sustainable social protection systems.

OUR PROGRAMS

Comprehensive initiatives designed to address critical needs and create sustainable impact across Sierra Leone.

Education and Advocacy:

Ensures access to quality and inclusive education for children and youth, especially girls, through school support, literacy programs, and life-skills development.

Health (Including WASH)

Improves maternal, child, and reproductive health; promotes hygiene and sanitation; raises awareness on preventable conditions; and strengthens mental health and psychosocial support through community education and counseling.

Environmental Health & Protection

Promotes clean, safe, and resilient environments through: Community environmental education Waste management and sanitation awareness, Tree planting and forest protection Climate change adaptation initiatives and clean air and water advocacy

Gender & Governance

Promotes gender equality, women’s empowerment, inclusive leadership, and community participation in decision-making. Strengthens accountability and enforces gender-related laws and policies.

Agriculture & Livelihood:

Supports sustainable farming, food production, and climate-smart agriculture. Provides livelihood assistance in the form of VSLA to widows, youth, and women for economic independence.
